Overview
👋 Hey, I'm Brett
I'm a software engineer specializing in iOS development, with experience across mobile, backend, and infrastructure. I've been building software since 2017, primarily in freelance and contract roles, and currently work on a Mobile & Desktop team at Sweetwater.
I'm also a co-founder of MieTech LLC, where I explore building intentional, practical software solutions from the ground up.

Maker at Heart
I can remember a time early in my life, before I knew what programming really was, where I walked two miles to visit an uncle to see if he could teach me how to program a DNA strand rotating. At the time, I didn't know what it was I truly was asking. But as time has grown I've realized I've always had a passion and desire for technology.
Once I had taken a programming class, I was hooked. I knew from the first time I compiled a program that it was what I was meant for. The thrill and excitement of bring something into the world that had only existed in my head moments ago is what drives me.
I enjoy learning new things, especially in my field, all the time. I would describe myself as a Maker, I love tinkering and building things. I enjoy combining hardware and software to make physical real-world solutions to personal problems or desires that I have. It takes my experience in programming to a whole new level.
There are three things in this world that I care about more than all others. Family/Friends, technology, and my faith. I love spending time with family and friends, just relaxing and enjoying each other's company. Everything to do with technology excites me. My favorite technology that I am working on practical experience with is Artificial Intelligence (AI). And above these, my faith. I am a strong believing Christian, and the Bible guides my life and how I interact and treat other people. I deeply believe in a love first approach, with patience and understanding.
